Doppio Zero / Nelspruit

We created a space that is familiar, drawing on nostalgia yet completely fresh. We consciously avoided over designing so as to maintain the easy, casual ambience. The restaurant has two distinct areas – the bakery/retail section, and the informal all-day dining .We took advantage of the double volume space, leaving the services exposed, and painting the ceiling details white, while plastering the walls in a textured broken white for warmth. Detail was integrated through the hand glazed tiles, the sourced original industrial lighting and the re-purposed Art Deco pieces. As always we designed bespoke furniture and joinery for the project.
